The TGV from Paris to Bordeaux stops at Angouleme. It's a 2 and a half hour trip from Paris and you can then hire a car for the drive to Périgueux.
Alternatively it's a 4 or 5 hour train trip via Limoges from Paris to Périgueux and a shorter trip in a hire car or if you are being picked up then the closest station with regular service is Thiviers(15km).
From other directions there are regular trains direct from Bordeaux to Périgueux and from the south and southeast to Périgueux via Brive or Agen.
The closest airports with good services from London are Bergerac and Limoges. These are served by RyanAir and other low cost carriers with daily flights and easy access. Both have hire cars and are only an hour's drive to the village.
For more international flights and major airlines you'll have to go to Bordeaux.
The A89 autoroute runs east-west past Périgueux linking Lyon/Clermont and Bordeaux, but coming from Paris and the north you would take the A10 towards Bordeaux then N10 to Angouleme (divided highway) or alternatively the A20 towards Toulouse and the N21 at Limoges direction Périgueux.
From Périgueux the easiest way is the D939 direction Angouleme and at Brantome follow the D78 direction Thiviers to LCF. If you like narrow winding back roads then the direct route is via Agonac and St Front D'Alemps.
